Such a great place for camping out and fishing! Reasonably priced rentals, tent camping, rv hook ups, boat dock, marina, beach like areas on the lake. It's everything a great way to spend a weekend! Or a week!
Nice place on Lake Somerville Texas
Recently the lake has flooded because of all the rain hurricane Harvey, so all the other parks are closed. A friend and I pulled up talk to the lady which was real nice, but we were misinformed. We asked if there was a pier, if we could fish, and what was the condition of the area that we could fish. She stated oh yeah it's great, you can fish and can do everything that you want. We paid our entrance to get in, and follow the arrows to where we could go fish from the Pier. When we got there the water was so high that it was covering the pier and we couldn't get out to even fish from it, and all of the campsites were inundated with water. Drove around to the Marina two fish from the docks there, but you'd have to pay $5 to fish from there as well even though it was Within the same park. Yes I know at the lake is high, but the water did not look conducive to fishing and we weren't going to pay another $5 because we were lied to so we left. Long story short, we were lied to, paid our entrance, and the park is not in a condition to be used unless you're just using it for the boat ramp.
The owner is a douche bag!! More worried about pushing his paying customers away with stupid rules than cleaning off human fecus on the walls in the restrooms , which by the way were disgusting!! Never again will I go there and I have been going there since I was a kid..
Maybe it was because it had not rained in the while but the water was so low. The temperature was so high. And it was just not a good day at the lake. I will tried it another time and see if I can revised this review
